Kuali Days 2013 preview: San Diego, here we come

By Randy Ozden

San Diego SkylineVivantech is excited to invite you to join us at Kuali Days 2013 as we welcome a thousand of our closest friends in higher education to San Diego, California. San Diego is our home city and we can verify how much you will enjoy it, as well as learn and network with others. Whether you are a newcomer to Kuali, or have been in the community from the beginning, the conference will give you plenty of opportunities to interact and learn that the most important part of the Kuali community is the people. Bring your insight, questions and passion for serving higher education to the 9th annual Kuali Days conference, November 18-21, and help us build momentum for Kuali through a community effort with some of the best and brightest technologists in higher education. Kuali Days will provide you the opportunity to experience what a community of dedicated professionals can accomplish together.

Kuali was announced in August 2004 as a community source initiative to build a financial accounting system for higher education, by higher education. The end result, Kuali Financial System (KFS) has saved institutions such as Indiana University over $20 million dollars. Kuali has proven that an ERP system built collaboratively by higher education is really possible.

In addition to Kuali Financial System (KFS), Kuali Coeus (KC), Kuali Student (KS), Open Library Environment (OLE), and Kuali People Management for Enterprise (KPME), the Kuali Community is working on other traditional components of a higher education ERP. By having licensing costs, Kuali provides savings for institutions and subsequently provides the opportunity to put dollars toward teaching and learning, the core activity of their institution. The slogan of Kuali is, “Keep your money in your mission.” which sums up what Kuali is all about.

If you work administrative computing in the field of higher education and want an alternative to the traditional expensive administrative computing software solutions, then come join us in the enchanting city of San Diego. The conference features a schedule packed with 16 preconference sessions and nearly 200 conference sessions on all eight projects within the Kuali ERP collection of administrative systems. Numerous educational and networking opportunities will also be available throughout the week to help you understand how important the community is to the Kuali project.
